Rollout of DLA reassessment for PIP
Plans to move claimants of Disability Living Allowance to the new Personal Independent Payment PIP are moving forward.
The DWP has announced that the re-assessing of existing DLA claimants will begin in Knowsley from 17th November 2014.
Existing claimants of DLA will be reassessed if:
- information about a change in care or mobility needs is received
- the fixed term award is due to expire
- children turn 16 years old (unless they have been awarded DLA under the Special Rules for terminally ill people)
- an individual chooses to claim PIP instead of their DLA
