Identifying and signposting people who look after vulnerable people to enable them to remain living at home, is a positive and preventative action that could lead a carer to the physical and emotional support they need.
This will lead to them being able to cope better with their caring role. Improve their and the cared for persons quality of life. Prevent a carer from experiencing increased levels of stress, depression, physical illness and long-term health problems. It will also reduce the incidents of carer breakdown that often results in hospital or care home placements for the cared for person.
