English
KDC offer a free English programme for adults with a learning disability and/or autism. The programme aims to improve people’s basic English skills through fun, interactive learning sessions.
Our programmes are designed in collaboration with our learners. The feedback we received from them was that they wanted to inject an element of fun into the sessions. Therefore we designed our sessions to help us laugh while we learn, incorporating games and group activities.
AQA accredited certificates
Learners work towards achieving AQA accredited certificates through the AQA Unit Award Scheme.
The topics we cover are flexible, and are determined by the views and aspirations of our learners. For example one of our pilot English courses focused on writing skills, whereas the other focussed on literature and comprehension
